Well folks were here !
cueball.tv is attempting to become solvent, and will be charging subscriptions as of the 14th of May 2012.
Dan and Kymo ( cueball.tv ) have been funding this project exclusively since 2005 ( with a few donations - thanx ).
Between the two of us this is really really expensive, but with 2000+ of us it can be really really cheap !
And that is basically the logic.
We have done ( arguably ) that which we set out to achieve - put Australian cuesports on the map through post/LIVE video+commentary, and centralize the co-ordination of events/ideas to the benefit of the whole community.
We can all do better !
Moving forward for cueball.tv means keeping up with emerging technologies, not just in software and hardware, but also the application of this on the internet ( which also constantly changes ) !
We are happy to continue doing the work, but only as long as you guy's are happy to help pay for it.
This being an attempt to make cueball.tv pay for itself, rather than Dan and Kymo being able to quit their day jobs and afford second wives.
This is how it will work . . . .
icon will be displayed on bottom right hand corner of your profile picture . . .
- staff - free per year
- commercial member - $200 per year - ( this means you are a person/persons who sells and promotes your new cuesports products ) access all areas
- betterer member - $40+ per year - access all areas
- better member - $20+ per year - access all areas
- standard member - $10 per year - access all areas
no icon - member - $0 per year - access all areas but cannot comment, chat or interact with other members
So there are really only two things to consider with this if you are not staff or a commercial entity. How much do I think it is worth ?

I was thinking of a trial period too. 30 days should be more than enough to get them well and truly hooked...lol
I see that the snooker forum allows you to see thread titles, parts of posts and the lay out of the site before requiring you to join in order to have full access.

cant see my answer but as we spoke on monday night dan yes send the info i believe the 40 dollar member is the best option for me as i am always checking on the codes to see whats happening, and u guys always seem to have it keep up the good work hollywood

kymo and dan, i looked thru the comments on this subscription post, and they come as absolutely no suprise. of course people will want to pay! U guys TOTALLY deserve it. One person said how u guys have put pool more on the map than anyone.. that must be a huge compliment to hear, and im sure others who have been in the game here for a long time feel the same.
You guys have well proved to the whole country of pool players what you can do, to ask for a little back is such a small ask.
Maybe it could be cheaper for new members, and then after 3 months it goes up. the reason bieng, there is many mediocre players (eg. students) that play all over the place and would like to get into the game more serioisly. this cheaper option could give them a taste for the site and events (e.g local pool comps, watching streaming to get inspiration from better players). and then when it goes up they will probably pay.
Anyways, its a brilliant site, and i love bieng a part of it, and i love doing the commentary. so put me down for a betterer member, but i want a staff icon!! hahahahaha

At the end of the day the min is $10 bux............................... wow... a whole 10 dollars.... You dont have to pay $40 even this is cheap geez.
For the amount of work these guys do i think it should be 1 price for all except for commercial of course at $50 per person.
Have a good think about it, Plane flights, Equipment, Editing, Time, AND then they have full time jobs as well.

I just paid my subscription. Only a small thing but i think the amounts are set in US dollars, not aussie dollars :)

Just paid my membership even though i only got the cheapest one cause thats all i had left in my paypal account at the time sorry guys spoilt myself for mothers day maybe next year i will be a betterer member lol
