I'm with 8-Ball if people want a change. Maybe make the races shorter eg. to 5 so the run times are on par with the last tournament. The random draws were awesome for producing some brilliant groups and match-ups. These aren't ranked tournaments so I think the random draw is an exciting feature.

Hey Luke,

I am very happy to play 9-ball and as you said, it is more fun, quicker and the competition is terrific. I would suggest that to help the smoothness of the events and to also help Walter, as we are using his tables, that the flow on of matches be done better to not slow the event down. I am not being negative to you guys as I know that running and playing in an event is very hard and tiring, I am just adding some comments. The turn out has been great and I hope the more events that happen keeps everyone coming back for more. Thanks guys great fun.

ye chop it up

eigth ball

u will get more runners leave the entry open   not capped   for intermediate see how many runners u get

What do you mean greg your not making much sense??? You saying no to 8 ball because its slower??? The races will be shorter..... Walter does not mind, Aslong as when we are not needing tables they are given back to him.

Joe, There will always be a cap..... We are running the event over one day, we didnt finish till 10pm thats 11 hours im there running the event. So ill decline the un capping business, this is a small comp not a national wide comp.
saturday so ppl can relax on sunday if it goes too long into the night rather then late night sunday and having to work next day(IMO)8BALL SOUNDS GOOD BUT 9 BALL IS GREAT FUN...DOWN 4 WHATEVA!N U GUYS SHOULD KEEP RUNNING IT AS IT WAS WELL DONE!
No Luke, I mean that we can improve the events whichever discapline by making the transition between matches quicker. Getting the next available match on as soon as possible and then the quarters semis and final on without too much delay. I am very happy with you guys running these events and all I am suggesting is little tweeks to make them even better, that's all mate. Good job!

yes i understand where gregs coming fromu need someone looking after each event individually so it can run smoother and faster this is tru u guys r doing g8 job playing sand running it but u r disadvantaging urselfs playing and slowing the comp down u need someone attending the needs off players as half of them just sit and wait to be called they dont realize see who they r playing and grab them and play

i have 2 suggestions write table number on ur match /draw sheet/so people know the match is on and name tags to make it easier  to find players and  on u guys eventually every one will just get with the flow

i know how much i hate getting asked questions in the middle of my match  even once i finish a rac u just want to play so thks again

I agree Greg.

Perhaps the boys can print out on a bit of paper a score sheet, throw in a couple of pens from coles, throwing the responsibility back to the winner per table to run over with the final score and table the match was played on. This will ease the pressure of you guys playing and running the comp and indicate 'current free table & winner of match'

This way you don't have to look around for free tables, you have it there on paper.

If this was done in the last comp then disregard my post 'I wasn't there'....

Cheers

I'd vote for saturday.

And if you're sticking with rotation, i'd say 10ball.

Or you could do a mixed race.  Three mini-sets.  4 racks of 8ball, 4 racks of 9ball, 4 racks of 10ball = a total race to 7.

Winner of the lag chooses either to have 8ball or 10ball set first (the middle set is 9ball), or they can take the opening break and let the other person choose the opening format.

You play out the sets completely (i.e if you win the lag and choose 8ball, then you play the entire 8ball set before moving to 9ball, and so on). First to a total of 7 wins.

Might sound complicated at first but it's actually not - and you please everyone with them getting a chance at their preferred format.

my 2 cents

I like your idea Kano, very creative and interesting.

BTW, u r a very good player, on Saturday I was so luky to left so many snooker or dead shots to you after I miseed, otherwise u will beat me with no doubt.

Anyway, glad to see you join us and I see you around.

Cheers

I like Saturdays personally.

I would prefer to play 9-ball or 10-ball.

I do like Kano's idea and would be willing to give that a go too, it seems pretty easy.

Mixed race sounds like fun!
