Dear NSWPBA

As you are aware I won the 2012 Australian 8ball championship held in Sydney.

As a result I have been awarded a spot to the world 8ball championships in

Dubai (venue not yet confirmed)

As you are also aware, half of my prize money for winning the Australian 8ball

championship has been withheld unlawfully and will be given to me only if I

decide to go to Dubai.

I say unlawfully because it was not announced prior to the event or stated on

any event information circulated by the NSWPBA that the association would

withhold 50% of the winner’s prize money and this would only be paid if that

player chooses to travel to the world 8ball championships in 2013.

This would no doubt be unheard of in any other sport but seems to be

common practice in the pool world.

As the WPA has recently cancelled world championship events at very late

notice leaving players out of pocket for the cost of airfares and hotels, which in

some cases was several thousand dollars, I'm writing this letter requesting the

WPA provide me with a written guarantee that the world pool championships

in Dubai (venue not yet confirmed) will be held on the advertised date of 22-

27th April 2013. I also want the WPA to guarantee the prize money will be

paid as agreed within a reasonable time.

If the WPA cannot provide this written guarantee I don't think it fair my prize

money, which has been withheld unlawfully, should be held to ransom unless I

spend $3,000 of my own money to go to an event which may or may not get

cancelled at the eleventh hour leaving me out of pocket even further.

I think this is a reasonable request considering the travel cost outlay is

substantial for us Australian players. I would love to represent Australia at the

world 8ball championships but do require some form of written assurance it

will be on before outlaying a substantial amount of my own money.

Looking forward to your response,

David Reljic

Wait a second! How do you qualify 32 players out of 45?
Tell me how YOU would do it and we can have a serious conversation.

Sorry i dont know what your saying...

How can we support the players......... We are already running tournaments..

We have got the australian 8 ball in sydney....

We are looking into running a scotch doubles state title....

Loyalty issues??? Would be 10 runners, you dont need 80 runners to make a tournament.

We are non paid and do the best we can do. People need to understand that this is not always about money, its about pride winning things. This is the problem we are having, And also the boys from out west wont drive into the city to play our comps, This is not our problem.

thats fine straight knock out but u guys dont support what the members need

if u have  47 playing why dont u support the 47 playing at least than u ask why are we not getting more players because u r not catering for what u have already so at least re think ur strategy u r there as a volunteer so what time it takes it takes thank u for that part i commend u guys and fluer but still u have loyalty issues if u r not  growing

Fish:

If we qualify 32 runners we are gonna be there all day all night on the sunday, which is not gonna happen. For starters your getting double elim, Which you should be thankful, if i had my way it would be straight knock out like the snooker tournaments.

And as for these other "situations' what are  you talking about, Please explain

nswpba u letting the ball drop u should qualify 32 players and support the players that support u free rides r not acceptable unless emergency situation and policing off matches buy commitee members when they see certain situations should be done and let players no ur policing games while roaming aswell u want more players to support u well

u  r there to suppoort the players first and for most i will seriously consider if i play in a nswpba event next time
